"Okay, so now I will merely type in this little window here, and see what's what." 02-24-2002 The Online Diaries of Michael F. Nyiri
"This is the first of what I finally hope are many attempts to get the thoughts and feverish hallucinations out of my head and onto paper. Hah hah. Paper. Get it? Oh well. This, as usual in the writing career of yours truly, Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, and fool, is this foolish attempt to create another blog."

"Well, it is Memorial Day 2004 and I am creating yet another page for my website... Ah, the interent is such a weird place and a wonderful place at the same time. Well Let’s see if this experiment works, and this posts." 05-31-2004 WhenWordsCollide on Xanga
In 1999 I began my "internet journey", and, as I've written many times, what a long strange trip it's been. Here, at 6:30am on the morning of March 22, 2015, I am "beginning again" and starting (yet) another blog in cyberspace. This time on Wix, one of the companies which host my main website AllThingsMike, and this time to "announce" (another one of) my (seemingly endless) return(s) to blogging.
I am a blogger. I am like you, but I am me. I am, succinctly, Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool, and I have been such since as far back as I can remember (on the internet anyway.)
My blog(s), is (are) called WhenWordsCollide. I am apt (or was, before senior moments started getting in the way, making me forget most of them) to begin multiple trains of thought, construct sentences which ramble on for paragraphs (or even pages), insert parentheticals and secondary (tertiary and then some) thoughts and observations, and go on and on (and on) but in the end, hopefully (for both my benefit and the benefit of my readers) create a document (which I lovingly call an "essay" no matter whether it be personal, political, or inspirational) that is filled to the brim with life, alliteration, poetry, and inspiration.
I am a writer. It has been said (not by me, although I've thought about it) that I write pretty well. People (both in "real life" and on the internet) have been gaining tolerance, inspiration and a sense of history and completeness through my writing for a long long (long) time. I am proud and humbled each time somebody praises my work. And I love the praise, and hopefully do not ingratiate myself too much by asking for it from time to time.
So here I am (again.) I will make an attempt this time out not to create blogposts the length of a typical Dickens novel, knowing that most people don't really have time for "art and literature" on the internet, because it gets in the way of viewing the latest cat video on Facebook.
After the intitial spits and spurts attempting to create a blog back in 2002 and 2003, I wrote the ElectricMovies Diary for most of 2003 and early 2004. My Xanga version of WhenWordsCollide was actively online for nearly a decade. I entered the last post on October 30th, 2013.
My blog contains "The Personal and Universal thoughts, feelings, and observations of Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool." When somebody (and they invariably do) says to me: Michael, you certainly are NO fool." I respond with a bit of Shakespeare: "The fool may thinketh himself wise, but only the wise man knoweth himself to be a fool."
And fool though I am, I am no fool, nosiree, I'm gonna live to be 103. And hopefully, I'll still be blogging.
It's good to be back.
