"Longshot" Cathy poem Drinking again "Old habits die hard." Twas a magnificent beginning Had fun fooling myself * * * No matter how much you said -- It doesn't work I'm making vast efforts not to think about you. * * * A new girl started at work She's real cute She has a good personality I'd like to get to like her And forget you all at once * * * It's not working My emotions have all been used up for you * * * Maybe I'll sacrifice emotion Maybe I'll act like I don't care Maybe I'll tell everyone I'm a Renaissance Man and I love every girl equally Maybe I'll write scores of poems and insert different names in the lines as I meet new girls....... * * * No I'll wait for you to love me
