"Cathy: poem two" Cathy poem

The sun is up
It's another day
Soon I'll be at work
Immersing myself
So I can try to forget you

Tomorrow, my day off
Binge time

Wednesday --
I'll see you again
My world waits for the meeting --
For your warm smile.
Even though it doen't mean much
To you

You ask me why I cry at night
Because I'm this close.
I need you
And the world doesn't matter

Nothing matters
Except you
And you know that

But you'll refuse to believe
As you pat me on the head & say,
"Tough luck, sweetheart"
