"Cathy" Cathy poem

8 o'clock
Sun's going down
It's summertime again

I look out the window,
watch the world exist.

I'm in love
Again
This time I hope it's real
But all I get this time is hope
Hope?

The sky darkens
So my soul
I've been writing poetry lately
About Cathy
About Cathy
About Cathy

Cathy
An obsession?
A false dream waiting for me to
                          wake up

A prophecy?

Those damn questions never end.
Those damn answers never appear

Sun falls lackadaisically to the sea
My mind clouds with the liquor

Wish someone could make me stop this
I don't need this
I need

Cathy

Cathy - she can make me stop everything
Look into my eyes and say
     "You're hurting yourself"
I could stop
I would
I need to

But

Why?

It's the only way I can forget
that she'll never need me.
