Next to Last Love Poem

I never really wanted love before...
I knew I could never have it
Now as I cry in bed
Thinking about you
I realize you probably don't love me
But I really needed love
This time

I was talking to a friend about you
And I called you my girlfriend
But I was just kidding
Because we throw words like wastepaper

And I thought I couldn't face rejection
And I dreamed you loved me
I was terribly happy...
But isn't it a pity life is real
And dreams throw ashes at our selves.

I need your love
I wish you could find it
Let me have it please
Or may we kiss goodbye
Forever
