What Was On My Mind
Electrified at first sight My eyes went blinded by the light My mouth had lectured me to say, And Emma brightened up the day She's not made up her mind Usurping love that she may find Evaluating all the time Versus 'love' and 'like' she wonders And in her love she blunders None can change her attitude Delivering another funny mood Emma will write her letters Reversing in her mind what they say Preserving her view of supposition Oppressing her world's slow decay Over and over I loved her Love has nothing to say... NOTE: The first letters of all lines spell Emma Sue Vanderpool, the name of the subject of the poem.
