To The Girl With The Hurt Look On Her Face

Somewhere she's sitting
Alone
Trying to write her little rhymes
That tell of love
And hurt

Somewhere she's crying
Because of me, I think
And because of him, too.

Cause first she wanted a friend
He came and gave her love
She took his love
		Then so did he
And then she needed a friend
And I grew tired of her after a while

I said I'd help her
But she needed much more love
Than I could give

So to save the hurt
I broke our friendship
And I did it bitterly

Much more bitterly than I had planned

And now I wonder if she's found solace
After her oh too bitter experience.
