The Last Love Song
Embodied, sweet nectar o'erflowed
A subway rushing through a tunnel
Still-wet grass clinging to slick bodies
A jar of something in the bathroom
Butter slapped upon a piece of toast
An open mouthed kiss on the porch
Magazines strewn on the coffee-table
A wisp of a nightgown being removed
Trains bellowing through the dark night
A single rose alive in a pot
Creaking of a broken shutter
Mewing of a hungry cat
Two lithe bodies touching
One hand caressing a soft breast
The rhythmetic beating of two hearts
For a brief instant in sync
And out of touch with reality
