POETS

The POETS
advancing like dirt on white clothing
coming forever in herds -
Shelley, Keats and Byron lead the first regiment
	Metaphorically symbolizing their words
	with flowers and birds
The second division is commanded by Sandburg,
Then Frost
Then Dickenson,,
Then come Pound, Eliot, and their devout followers,

Every one has one he imitates
but then the FOURTH BATTALLION Arrives
with leaders no one has heard of....
		like Bukowski and Menashe
The POETS
cramming every english class in the university
writing every word that comes into their heads
			I, A MAN
			IN THE DEPTH
			OF
			IF IT IS
The POETS

SWARMING the paths of the world
some good some fair some trite
		Feelings
		Thoughts
		Experiences
EVERYONE is a poet
