"Eulogy on the Death of a Relationship"

Waiting in the limelight
He stood unerringly.
Precision
Day after day after day
His life.
Her - a scout
On the lookout
Here she finds her catch
Big? Just right - big enough
In her limelight, her eyesight..

Sitting carefully observing
He noticed her.
Unblinking
And it clicked for both at the same time
Need.
Her - and him.
Together - mutual need
Hey I love you - kiss
Kiss kisskiss kiss
Symbols of forgotten pasts..

Paths cross in the sunlight
He drove her home.
Good - night kiss
Night after night after night
Dates.
Scouting and conniving
His innocence
He was enraptured
Right, see how simple it is
"I love you I love you"

Waiting for nothing special
"I love you too."
Sure.
Repetitions of past feelings
Come to again for need.
Mercenary
For her wants
Desiring a world bronzed
A couple people walking briskly
Into the upturned daisies..

June bride
Everybody wants to be a June bride
Veils of white
Brocade satin, golden thoughts
Her thoughts
World bronzed
Gold plated
"Please let me have that?"
Okay..

Waiting in her limelight
A symbol of desires.
Uprooted
Day after day after day
Same thing
His life
With her..

Waiting in his limelight?
Never again as long as
She's there
With her hand out
Wanting material love
Her - the scout
Searched till she came upon him
Now he wants out
She hurt him a little
He hurt her a little..

"Let's not see each other"
"Okay"...
