Put the Card In The Slot and Press the Button
Waking up in the morning turning
on your engine walking down to
breakfast eating what you can
turning on the radio hearing
the top ten played backwards then
getting in your car racing to get
to school on time collecting one
speeding ticket marching five minutes
late into first period
getting your third chance this week
to see your counsellor finally
eating lunch with your girlfriend
kissing her going back to fifth
period failing government test racing
back home grabbing a snack from
the refrigerator going to work
cussing at the boss apologizing for
your mistake which was really his
then you get to go home
eating once again skipping homework
for a chance to slip into sleep
the alarm clock rings
waking up shutting it off turning
on your engine walking down to
breakfast eating what you can...
