1971 Poetry by Michael F. Nyiri

Once and Now
Two hands reach out
In different lands
They fail to touch
Somehow they're lost

Two minds entwine
But not together
And they become lost, too
No path is crossed

For once upon a time
There was a sunny clime
For lovers, there was warmth
The hills were covered green
Happily ever after
Two could be as one
All the feelings were felt
All they could see, was seen

Not it's not the story
In here and now
We cannot come
Even if love were born

For her it's fine
She doesn't care
But I can
Only feel forlorn
