1971 Poetry by Michael F. Nyiri

Hello Sunshine Hello Rain

I hold inside my palm
The drip of a leaf
It lays there soaking in the sunshine
The peaceful air
It conveys with its presence
Is enlightening to the soul
As I hold it in my hand
It rolls along my life line
But I stop it in time
It travels back down almost to the arm
Radiance from the sun
Reflects from its small orb
And within minutes it is gone
But while on earth
It conveyed a beauty
And withdrew an emotion
