1971 Poetry by Michael F. Nyiri

And the Birds, They Flutter
Life is nimble, life is quick, and, baby, shake off from that stick
Make a name, forget the past, cause only what you do now will last.
Off the shackles, off the chains, clean your life before it rains.

And the birds, they flutter
Caring not now for the world
The birds, they flutter
Raising their wings that they furled.

Reackon now, the days fly past, look toward the bow, and not the aft
Here's to life, come raise your cup, never be afraid to look straight up.
Nowhere finds what's gone again, so find your future 'fore you find disdain.
