"Connection"

I lived for the feeling of connection
     To look in love's eyes
     To hear soft whispered sighs
     I often felt I'd feel a resurrection
     To evoke wondrous squeals
To really feel how love feels
The future always pointed toward perfection
Was it you in the dark
A playful vision in the park
No one knows lonely like I do
No one knows why I act like a stone
     I've seen romance
But it's through a closed window to me
     And I never could feel
But I never failed to see
Someday I will feel the connection
     The resurrection
     The perfection
     Or I will perish unfulfilled
As in nightmares of the soul
