"Past Poems and Pleadings"

Throughout all those love songs, poems, pleadings;
Words written in haste and waste; I always knew
of the existence of a beauty; a feeling, a
rich ripe wonderful beauteous joy.
A forbidden ecstasy for every girl and boy.

I wrote about "that certain feeling" and
I dreamed of romance.
Throughout all the relationships, the girls
would love me, and though the reality
never lived up to the feeling;
A deep warm throbbing in my heart
would enhance

The years passed on, turgid, frivolous time
spans etched fleetingly on memory's glass.
Then one day I met you and I
thought that beauteous feeling would
come to rest.

There is something so foreign to me
now, I cannot find meaning in relationships.
I feel you were always searching;
That to you I am a steppingstone
which you can step off of at any
moment.

At times I want to ask you
What I mean to you.
You have talked long into the night
I know I have felt as deep as I
can for you.

I truly love you with a love so
strong it persists even when I don't
know what's going on.

Your eyes do not hunger for me.
And if I hunger for you;

You will turn away.

We have to take the next step

together.

Even if we fall.........

I'm ready for you my love
My eye's are open.
I shouldn't fear you
I should embrace you.

Look at me. Love me.
Learn my secrets
Let's have fun with life.

My heart is breaking as I write this
Because I can't connect with you
As I once thought I should
Connect with universal love.
