Poem For the New Year 1982opening shot no titles a lone girl upper right hand frame lower frame rushing seas wind blown hair lavender dress maybe somewhat beefy thighs but not much a serene expression no words cut to a small 4x4 room posters on the walls a forlor young man reclining in a brass bed playing a guitar a picture on the dresser of the lone girl from the previous frame laughing the scene is in black and white x-cept the young man and the guitarno words cut to an antic discussion between a man resembling myself and the young man from the previous frameno words a sound airplane moving overhead leaves rustling dogs barking cut to a blue sky cut to a jolly evening where everyone has fun cut to an expensive electrical part falling off a handtruck cut to a scene of desolation and rebirth cut to a medium shot of a couple sitting on a sofa watching an old Marx Brothers movie on t.v. They are holding hands sighing with their back to the camera dissolve to myself dissolve to a marching army singing death songs now a frantic diagonal wipe from the left top of the screen removes the marchers and returns the girl by the seas-She turns around and walks off screen. close up of the sea sea soundsno words cut to myself fadeno words cut to myself fade no words a film in poeticsbyMichael F.
