"Desire
in Detritus"

She walks in beauty, like
the night
embracing sadness, giving sight
Erasing each small suff'ring plight
and showering love o'er stench and blight
She holds a candle in the
dark
illuminating cold and stark
When ere she walks, to hark
The desolate becomes a park
She reminds us of the life
we share
where golden sunlight streaks the air
and warmth and love do tender there
along the wisps of long dark hair
She holds our gaze up to
the sky
with wondrous clouds, to breathe a sigh.
Apart our dismal doom to ply
and send our dreams to soar so high.
She folds the gentle twill
of truth
rememb'ring thoughts lost long from youth
Forthright, full, from which we sleuth
She cures our ills alike forsooth
She strides the universe
alone
and gentle precious life atone
Till all the cinders that have blown
into our minds and hearts are known
