"Questioning Depression Free Verse"
Constant crescendoes, creating undulations of vivid vitality,
Harbor no petty painful peccadilloes
Yet as one sits, unconnected with purpose,
Flighty, fleeting questions pound as suffering seafoam
Sloshing serenity and suitable circumstances from my being
Encroaching enmity amongst my myriad meanderings,
Unloosing my mind from it's prevarications of profundity
Beginning the dire journey anew without wariness
Nothing helps to assuage the calamity
Encouraged by the questioning of depression
Nothing serves to stay the roiling waters within me
Nothing calms nor slakes my thirst for purposeful existence
And the questioning depressions claw within and without
With a hungering purpose unknown and unwanted
Shall I not breathe with the ease of unfettered comfort?
Shall I not walk through a day without fear of depression?
Shall I not give of myself to others
That they might feel refreshed and relinquish their fears?Shall the questions, ingrained in perpetuity, finally cease?
And bring the poet perfect, solid, soothing peace? As the long days flow into one another, as the dirge
The constant crescendoes of depression, stayed, slowly full emerge.
