"Hopeful"

Friday, February 13th, 2004 5:41 p.m.pst
(an exercise in spontaneous poetry 7)

I will meet you someday, this I know
Holding on to your hand in the rain smiling.
I will kiss your existence with ecstasy,
like I wrote, remember?
But then were we even in that dream together?

I will wander with you in eternity then
Even if I cannot be with you now
Perhaps you died before I was born

that's the casual ironic question I have
always
harbored.

Perhaps we are standing on the brink of our
Experience
And perhaps you read me now, as I write.
You were going to finish my sentence
What was I going to say?

I will
Perhaps
Kismet rides the bus alongside humanity
And sometimes the right two people get off
at the same stop.
