poetry by Michael F. Nyiri
"messageboardpoetry"the expanse stretches out unhindered,
love, lies, and resources rescinded
no one understands, least of all me
living one more day in a land of poetry.
i feel, smell, touch, and someone takes my hand
i reach out and remember, when a soothing rush can
hearken to a time gone by, and a new forever now
i'd really like to see the future, but i've forgotten how
the great expanse is ready at the expense of everyone dear
and sometimes even if i use my ears i somehow forget to hear
but the land and the sky and the wheres and the why
settle back and rejoice, relax, rest
i've been living a joke, but enjoying the feeling
and hoping I pass the life test
a little something on a Wednesday afternoon.
