John Wayne Airport Shuts Down Twice

IRVINE, CA. (HS) John Wayne Airport shut down twice
on Saturday—but neither incident was linked to terrorists, 
sources say.
 
First a tire on a Delta jet blew out during landing shortly 
after 9 a.m., then later when a woman ran past security 
officers and entered the terminal just after noon, an FAA 
official said.
 
“There’s just not too many people flying these days”, said 
the official. “Maybe because of the long security lines, 
and the trouble parking, and the fact that we shut the 
airport down because of the slightest of circumstances, 
maybe that’s why.”
 
John Wayne Airport was closed Sept. 11, 2001, after two 
Jetliners crashed into the former World Trade Centers in 
New York City. This is the first time since September that 
the airport has been closed down.

waiting area for Southwest Airlines.shortly before he was
forcefully removed from the airport and shoved in a
