the composite images from the cultural blender
|
First came the idea that Cartoons are a vital part of the Cultural Blender. The essays concerning the impact of animation on modern popular culture have not been completely written as yet, however the copy/paste nature of the blender in general dictated the use of composited images, and once the inspiration took root, the first wave of "photos" magically appeared in the image editing programs. Almost all "cartoon" icons were taken from the internet. A simple word search for the character on Google's engine (specifically the Image search) brought the originals into my database. Next, transparent gifs of most were made, so that they can be "dragged and dropped" into the backgrounds. All images of course are copyrighted, and are being used with that in mind. MFN 3/17/02 |

The Cartoon section of Cultural Blender uses images and references to Popular American animated cartoons and American Popular Culture. So even though, in the interest of science, images and references are used, full credit will always be given, or at least attempted, within the context of this document. On the “Channels” page, where links to these sites will be posted, there constitutes a bibliography , of sorts. If you see a photo., part of a composite, mention of a trend or a feature of American Popular Culture which you do not believe I have documented correctly, please email the webmaster.
